Kay, so I saw in the DA news today that Wacom was having a contest titled "Bring your visions to life: Dreams" and I thought, OMG AWESOME I CAN DO SOME ART OF MY DREAMS WHICH ARE ALWAYS REALLY TRIPPY AND AWESOME
... and then I read the rules
and died.
Because, it's not about ACTUAL dreams but about what you want to be when you grow up.

Cause... I mean, how is that bringing your VISIONS to life? HUH?!
It isn't. It's just drawing real life.
I think they messed up on this one.
They should have done something like... "Pick a favorite dream, or one you had recently, or even a nightmare that continues to haunt you, and illustrate it. Or, you could bring to life the endless possibilities opened by the dream world. The dead could be alive, dragons could be real, animals can talk, the sky can be purple and everyone can have hair of fire. Or you could even draw your dream world/life, how you wish the world could be. There are endless possibilites; dreams are unique and amazing and crazy or beautiful funny or scary or all of the above. It's up to you!"

... So just now I decided to actually hold this contest.
That's right, I'm holding a contest. I'm setting the deadline to the second day of the New Year (that's January second, haha) to give everyone time. And if you need more, just ask me! I'll extend the deadline as far as I need to, within reason. The description is above *points* and there will be anywhere from one to five categories, depending on how many entries of each type I get. There's going to be an overall category, where I choose my absolute favorites. Then, there's going to be additional categories if I get at least two entries in them. These will be: Photomanipulation, Digital Art, Traditional Art, and Written work.
As for prizes, there is going to be:
First place in overall: Full digital work of any one/two/three characters they so choose, complete with background
Second Place in overall: Digital work of ONE character with background
Third place in overall: Digital Ref Sheet/body shot of ONE character or a full Traditional work of ONE character without background
and in each other specific category, there will be a first place prize that will essentially be the same as the second place in overall. =3
